Hi GM,
the current default from Debian etch is exim4, so at least a lot of DD's
feel this is good for most user, at least if you dont have enought
expierence to CHANGE your mta. Sendmail is the grand-daddy of mta's and
has a sorted history with many exploits. The Debian folks thought this
was not good for most folks for these reasons and thus have exim4 by
default with many others using postfix. Sendmail is also an all-in-one
mta, it has everything in one vs. other mta's that provide a more
modular approach. Exim4 in debian has a heavy and light version so that
you can choose which is best for your task.
Cheers,
Kev
