Multi-pane in Konq is very limited, though [1]. Konq also integrates, of a fashion, with SVN - again, in a very limited (update and commit) way vs TortiseSVN. I use both platforms to develop, using gvim also on both, and for the file manger, edit, SVN process, the (admittedly paid for, though not much) Windows environment is far more efficient, simply because the tools are better designed. Caveat: None of this has anything to do with M$, of course, because, other than the OS, I don't use anything of theirs at all :-) But really, why the devs don't 'borrow' more from excellent designs is a bit baffling to me. I'd happily pay for a decent file manager on Linux. There's just not enough 'borrowing' going on and too much NIH [2], as I see it. -- Cheers, Marc [1] At the very least it should allow: tree-pane-tree-pane, and provide up, back and forward buttons per pane. And multi-tabs per pane. Krusader almost gets it right, but they ruin it by putting the trees /under/ the directories!
