well, I've lost track of your thread, but I can tell you that
truncated pages is SOP for me in sid. iceweasel and gnucash both print
with improperly formated pages. iceweasel truncates the top and bottom
and gnucash just prints a page that is overall too large for the print
boundaries of the printer. Fortunately for me, I do so little
printing, that its not an issue and I live with it. 

I'm sure it can largely be solved by copious reading and hacking ...
