As I said in the op, I commented out the "dri" line and still get the error "AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable" AIGLX was introduced in this version of xorg, which I found out in researching the problem. Ver 7.1.1 did alter the xorg.conf but it yields the sane error. As my card is not supported by AIGLX, I wonder if the developers are hinting that I (we) should get a newer Video Cards. :-) Thanks for the reply Sjoerd.
