Hello, Debian Users of the World...

I did have XFree86 working well with dual monitors, 2.6.16.18 kernel and
the prior xfree86 (stable sources) from the spring and summer of 2006.

A recent apt-get upgrade brought in newer xfree86 server, and
when I recently rebooted, I found X would not start.
I've tried making the kernel again, with no DRM/MGA modules
in case they were conflicting with that from XFree86 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge2
No change.

Here are the types of errors in the XFree86.log file:

Required symbol MGAValidateMode from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/mga_drv.o is unresolved!
Required symbol MGASetMode from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/mga_drv.o is unresolved!
Required symbol MGASetMode from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/mga_drv.o is unresolved!
{...}
Fatal server error:
Some required symbols were unresolved

Searching in google, I see others hit by this bug, but their solution
is to compile
xorg based drivers for mesa and such. Given that this XFree86 is debian
custom stuff, where do I go to do similar to the information on this web site:

http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Building

Is there an apt based way to build this from Debian sources and
resolve my conflicts?

Of course, I can run X with vesa, but that doesn't give me the
beauty and productivity of dual head display.
