The packages have now been uploaded to experimental, though they must still pass NEW processing. Once they are approved by the ftpmasters, then they will go into experimental. Once that happens, we can ask the openldap maintainers to upload a new version to experimental so that it will build against the new cyrus-sasl-2.1 packages. Once openldap is rebuilt, we upload again with ldap support enabled. Once all that is done, the transitioned cyrus-sasl-2.1 and openldap packages can be uploaded to Sid. Hopefully all this happens in time for Etch.
