just for kicks, I installed it but not using any xorg.conf settings and
it blinks ok. What's the Xleds for?

Thanks for answering: Xleds never was of any use to me, that I can
recall, but I tried setting it when under 2.6.18-ck1 to get it working
again under X, as specified by the man-page.
What kernel are you using?
