cinelerra error

Hello.  I installed Cinelerra.  It gives me the following error when I 
run it:

The following errors occurred:
MWindow::init_shm:/proc/sys/kernel/shmmax is 0x2000000.
It should be at least 0x7fffffff for Cinelerra.

I use Debian Etch, on a Pentium III.  Is there a way I can fix this error?
