Why don't you just 'aptitude update' and 'aptitude dist-upgrade' (after
reading the release info on
http://www.de.debian.org/releases/sarge/releasenotes)?
There is no need to reinstall in order to upgrade from woody to sarge.
By the way, 'unstable woody' doesn't exist anymore. woody became stable
years ago and now is obsolete.
