Help, webcam on etch

Hi list.

I'm ripping my hair out on trying to get a webcam to work. I've done google, and the manuals I've found so far have not helped.

It is a USB cam with microphone. Specifications, see output of "lsusb -vv":

The most promising procedure so far has been the automatic script easycam.  It made some symbolic links to the linux-headers, and created the devices video:

When running apps that use the camera (e.g. camorama) they tell me:

Could not connect to video device (/dev/video)
Please sheck connection
