hi folks, I've recently acquired a problem with getmail. Most of the time it works fine -- it downloads my messages, leves them on the server for two days, and then delet them. But every so often -- once every ouple of days -- it will re-download the whole mailbox (which uually has about 1500 messages in it by that time).
this is becoming a pain! so I wonder what's causing it. I lookedi n my .getmail/log, and I see no indication of anything wrong -- all that happens is that, suddenly, all the messages get reloaded. In the getmail FAQ, it's suggested that this kind of problem usually has to do with a broken POP server -- though even that would be aa strange explanation, since the mafunciton is episodic and unpredictable. Also, I'm pretty sure the probblem first arose when I upgraded to Sid, found that getmail 3.1 wouldn|t work with my popserver account, and then DOWNGRADEd back to 2.7.
