Well, it was MySQL that was behind the curve for the longest time. Can't blame someone for not wanting to use something that new.

A real DB has had that feature for 10+ years.

Informix is pretty inexpensive, comparatively to Oracle, and kicks ass all over Postgres *and* MySQL. Just as ONE example.

Being a MySQL fan-boy is fine, but MySQL isn't the only thing out there, as much as many fan-boys would like to think it is.
