Now I can't boot gdm.

Did I mess up some permissions while messing with this driver as root?

I ran chmod 777 /tmp, and now gdm starts. I read the suggestion in
the documentation, but it said make sure it has reasonable
permissions... seems like 777 is dangerous permissions for anything,
but for now gdm starts; if you think I should change /tmp to something
else, I will...
I've come up with my own special pronunciation for "gdm"...
