Hi,
I've recently installed mysql 4.1 on my debian stable box. It is being
used with a php4 application running on Apache2.
Mysql installs fine. I can use the command line client to log into
mysqld. Create databases, create users etc.
After getting my php4 app running, configure and initially working. I
start getting this error.

I can restart mysld from /etc/init.d/mysql. It seems to run until I
submit a file to be uploaded using the php4 application. I've read
through and tried various memory settings for php, mysql, and apache2
but nothing seems to solve the problem.
Here's a snapshot from top. This is with mysql and apache2 running, but
not using the php4 app:
