i tried on my (simple) machine an intel8x0 card (onboard) and a
soundblaster card, chip ca0106. i could not get *both* cards working
when i used the appropriate command [alsamixer -c 0 or alsamixer -c
1]for, as far as now, unknown reasons. i am using a compiled version of
alsadriver 1.0.11 which i installed from /usr/src/alsa into the standard
sarge-kernel.
i disabled the onboard card in the bios and now i am using only the
ca0106 chip.
so i am very interested in a solution. google did not bring this relief;
neither the ALSA_website info.
