I seem to have exactly the same problem, I am trying to mount a sarge server from an etch Desktop install and can not mount...
I always get the permission denied error even though my /etc/exports file is correctly configured...(not using host.allow or hosts.deny) Mounting from sarge server to sarge server works flawlessly, so i can only deduce that error is in etch implementation of NFS??
