I have been trying to install Etch using a variety of methods for some time now - always a full clean install. Almost everything goes fine until it comes time to "Finish the Installation". The part that does not go fine is that, sometime during the install process it marks the first partition of my second hard drive as bootable (my user home directory partition), and I believe that it unmarks my root directory as non-bootable. So, Lilo won't install to the proper MBR, though Grub will. So I choose to use Grub. Then follow the steps to the Finish stage. When I select that, the little progress window flashes on the screen so fast I can barely see it, and it does NOT finish the installation. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas - either on what I can do to get it up and running, or on which list I should post this to.
