Hi, Don't know about the cdrom, but there may be another solution. There is a package "debootstrap" which basically downloads all the repositories, puts them in a folder (for instance a seperate partition mounted somewhere) and you can configure what you need to configure. Afterwards, you boot that system and finish the installation. Debootstrap needs a running Linux (Debian => maybe knoppix?) but there are LiveCD's out there that can help you with that.
