How do I use ksim?

I use up-to-date Debian unstable, i386 port, on a PC with an AMD 
Athlon64 3500+ chip.

There is a package on my system called ksim. How do I use ksim?
How do I find out which processes are accessing my hard drive or the 
Internet?
