Do this: Edit /etc/default/rcS Make sure that UTC=yes. Install ntpdate. Enter a valid public NTP server. Run /etc/init.d/ntpdate start. This will force your clock to the correct UTC time. The next time you shutdown, your hardware clock will get updated also. Note: if you're dualbooting with Windows, make sure that UTC=no, 'cause Windows stores the time in the hardware clock in localtime, not UTC. Note2: you don't _have_ to use ntpdate... you can use date to set the time by hand.) M
