But you do! You have to buy it because it's a government program. It's called taxation, coercive funding of programs whether you like it or not. Robbery, at gun point, and considering the kinds of things that get funded there's lots of stuff "a few loons believe" that is getting your money right now. If you object to any of it, if you object to even one penny of government spending, it is hypocritical to then say to someone else that it's ok that they have to pay for things that they do not want. Those who argue "social benefit" have no sense of history, of how people were getting along before those services were expropriated, "nationalized" or otherwise turned into coercive agents of the state. Such usually government-school educated folks do not look around them and see how people interact when not being coerced. Coerced schooling has in fact made such folks believe that there is no other way than coercion for people to interact, since they themselves have been in prison all their lives. If you're interested, in terms of mass transportation, energy, roads, education, whatever, I can point you to the sources that discuss how it has been done without coercion. But I will not do it on a F/OSS discussion list. After all, it's very likely that no one here wants to pay Microsoft for a copy of Windows they don't want and will not use.
