Gnu video card driver

Hi, I've configured 'nvidia' driver in my sarge thank to 'Andrew's Debian-nVidia HOWTO' ( http://home.comcast.net/~andrex/Debian-nVidia/index.html).

Now everything works fine but on the first 'modprobe nvidia' I received a message like "the system has been tainted by a non-free module". This is obviously due to nvidia module.

Is there any video card fully supported (2D and 3D) by Gnu driver?
I know that Ati does not support Gnu/Linux in any way and that is why I always buy nVidia video cards.
