Views differ but I find cups pretty straightforward. Install: cupsys cupsys-bsd cupsys-client foomatic-db-hpijs hpijs add yourself to the group lpadmin: $ sudo adduser <you> lpadmin Open a webrowser and got to: hhtp://localhost:631 You can then install your printer using the web interface.
