Hello everybody,
I'm new to this list, so I'm hoping not to break with any rules.
I'm looking for a console tool for adding, deleting and disabling user
accounts using the /etc/passwd- and group databases and
smbpasswd-database. It should offer a curses like user interface,
because I don't want to run X.
It would be nice, if such tool would support user-profiles, i.e.
something like presets for new accounts, e.g. smb-user, console-user.
Further it should use useradd/adduser et al as backend.
In some linux-distributions such tools are intergrated within a global
configuration enviroment, like YAST in Suse or linuxconf in RedHat.
Commercial Unices have done this job in a similar manner.
I don't trust such conf-tools. I'm looking for something smaller for my
task.
Does anyone have a hint?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings from Hamburg,
Mattes Opel
