This seems to be equivalent to a bug that has been reported and
resolved in Redhat:

That page suggests that one person was able to install using 'acpi=on'
as a boot parameter. The page also talks about booting with an
SMP-enabled kernel (although I don't think the Debian install disk has
such on it). Take a look at the BOOT METHODS screen (F3). Maybe the
'exper' option or one of the other options will accommodate you.

Perhaps you could disable the framebuffer during install:
linux debian-installer/framebuffer=false
Look at the SPECIAL BOOT PARAMETERS screen (F5) also.
