You CAN use your system with text and console utilities: vi, emacs, mutt, links, .. So you can do many things. If you want to get your X windows setup, give us some info to help you. 1) what is the output of 'lspci -v' 2) what install did you use: net-installer, sarge cd... 3) are you using Xfree86 or Xorg? 4) any errors or warningins in /var/log/XFree.0.log or /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
