Trying to fix a deb dependency issue has broke 2 kernels(2.6.8-2-686 and 2.6.15-1-686) and is proventing reinstallation of packages required to reinstall/configure the kernels. I can't reinstall yaird, ramfs to configure 2.6.15-1-686 and can't reinstall 2.6.8-2-686 because of broken pipes for kdesktop and kworldclock and it also wants to remove libjack0.80.0-dev because it's not used. Tried to remove/purge libjack0.80-dev, kdesktop, kworldclock, which are proventing progress, but they fail. Ran apt-get -f install, aptitude -f install, dpkg --purge and probably some I don't remember. Two users concurred that the dependency issue was libslang2 and I purged it which took out all of kde, the 2.6.8 kernel and the ramfs tools for 2.6.15-1-686 and it gone downhill from there. Running aptitude -f install after different attempts to reinstall things had reinstalled most of kde but i can't remove the 3 mentioned above that is preventing progress. I have also removed sid and reinstalled etch to see if that would help the dependency issue and it didn't. Yaird was not removed. I'm afraid to reboot before I can fix these 2 kernel issues. I need some serious help to resolve this issue; done all I can and know to do. PLZ copy my email-not subscribed. Output of aptitude install kernel-image 2.6.8-2-686 shown below and the error messages are all the same no matter what I do. TIA for any help.
