Hi list.

How to compile my kernel for 64bits processor?
I have P4 630 (3Ghz, 64bits (EMT64)).

When i go to 'make menuconf' on kernel, i can't see EMT64 on CPU Type menu... After setting "export ARCH=x86_64" and run 'make menuconfig' again, now i see "Amd-Optron/Athlon64", "EMT64" and "generic-x86-64"...

but when i try to compile (i'm using make-kpkg), they ask me again for CPU Type and don't show these options, just the default (386, 486, 686, P4, Via C3, etc...) (PS: ARCH still set to x86_64)

What's' wrong? How do i caompile my kernel for my EMT64?
I'm using Debian Sarge updated to etch...
Also, i can't install using Debian AMD64 because this use netinstall with kernel 2.6.8, wich can't find my HD controller (ICH7).
