No problem. Either hand out 'fixed' IP addresses by DHCP or limit the
range of IPs to begiven out. On a /24 network, I usually reserve .1 for
a router and .2 - .9 for servers; depending of course on the number of
servers I'd like to run.

They *may* have fixed IPs, depending on how you use your network. Oh and
use fixed IPs for DNS servers... ;-)

As long as you know how to get your network back into its previous
working state and it's not a production environment, falling flat on
your face a few times is the quickest way to gain knowledge.
