Hi,
I was having sarge with xfree86 , i upgrade to testing release with
Xorg.
After this upgrade i started facing weired problem with few application
( like xmms , xchm ..)
I partially could see fonts in those application. I googled for this
problem , few one said that its becoz BYTE_CODE_INTERPRETER in Xorg
is not enable. So i compiled xorg-6.8.2 from source and installed it ,
but no use :(
then i download Xorg-6.9.0 and compiled it with BYTE_CODE_INTERPRETER
enable . still problem keep persisting.
in the end somehow i manage to guess that its problem with locales, if
i start xmms with
env LANG=C xmms it works absolutely fine.
so i use export LANG=C and everything works fine .
by default my machine is set to LANG=en_GB
My problem got solved for time being , but i would like to know why and
how it is related to locales ?
where i could fall of my face because of this work around ?
