Russ, I quite agree, and that was my intended point. Didn't realize I was sending my reply to the list, and so was more willing to concede to his possible insistance on formatting messages. I've never used Windows software, but gather Eudoria is preferable to most other Windows options. In a Linux context, I suppose pine or mutt would be ideal, although I personally use rmail/emacs despite the format in which it stores mail messages.
