Try search the Debian archive on Nabble: http://www.nabble.com/Debian-User-f32.html

Nabble also provides a combined archive for all Debian lists here: http://www.nabble.com/Debian-f24.html - this means you can search and browse all the User, Dev, Security ... lists from a single place, and you can drill down to the individual list as well.
