Hi, When I have installed the nvidia driver included with Sarge it worked but it was awfully slow. Since I have both upgraded the kernel to 2.6.14 and the nvidia driver to 1.0-8178.
Now Xfree86 crashes each time I load the glx module but I can't find any error message in the XFree86.0.log file except : Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting On the screen with one is also displayed : XIO : Fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on Xserver ":0 0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining. According to the log file I have a trouble with refresh frequency on the screen despite I have used the one given and the resolution given the manufacterer of my monitor. My hardware is a Geforce 2 MX graphic card and LCD sreenet IBM ThinkVision 150. I think the trouble could be caused by the GL libs, I installed the followings : freeglut3, freeglut3-dev, libglib1.2 libglib1.2-dev, libglib2.0-0, libglib2.0-dev, libglut3, xlibmesa-gl-dev, xlibmesa-gl, xlibmesa-glu, xlibmesa-glu-dev,libgle3. I tryied to installed other ones but apt-get told me my graphical application would be removed if I do that.
