Hi

I have a little problem with the way USB and hotplug/udev are (not)
working on my laptop (It's a Gateway, but i really don't know the model,
hopefully I will provide enough info for someone to help me).

The thing is that if I boot the machine with the USB devices already
connected, they are recognized and I can use them. If i unplug them and
plug them again or if I plug them after the boot process, nothing
happens and I can't use them (even the mouse). No modules are loaded,
nothing! Even if I restart the hotplug deamon, it still doesn't work.
I've remove the "legacy devices" thinghy from the BIOS, but the result
is the same.

I'm not really sure what information to provide, so I'm sending as much
info as I can think it is relevant. If anything else is necessary I will
provide it.

I do understand that this a boring problem and as such I understand if i
don't get any anwsers. I've googled arround and found people with
similar problems, but the solutions for them don't even apply. I'm still
actively pursuing an anwser to this, but if someone can help me and put
an end to my misery I would be very thankfull.

Finally, I'm not subscribed to this list (there was a time were i could
keep up with it, but not anymore) so if you could cc the answer to me I
would really appreciate it.

Here goes the info.

I'm sending as an attachment, the .config file from my current kernel.

Besides the mouse I have a Sonyericsson k750i phone and an Toshiba e800 PDA.

I've tried running udevmonitor, but no events are generated. Syslog and
dmesg have nothying either.

Once again, thanks for any help
