Currently on web based forums, one can request the forum software to send an email when a particular threads gets updated. These threads could be anything that you opted in (for example, threads started by a person, threads to which a person replied, threads in which a person is interested in). Is there any such feature available for d-u mailing list also? The advantage is that one need not read all the messages but only those which are of interest to him.

If that is not possible, can someone recommend a "debian forum" which provides such a feature?

Especially for this i have write a few scripts for mailfilter&mutt .
Mailfilter checks your mail account and deletes spam before fetching mails .
Scripts fail only if mail is written by 'reply' instead of 'list-reply' ,
but such mails are seldom .

Now for me, it deletes about 3/4 of all messages .
I am on dial-up , and for me this is better , than local newsserver .
As soon as i'll have a free time - i'll prepare and mail them to mailfilter's
author(those in project are obsolete) , but if you want i can mail them to you
now , but in some raw(but working) mode .
