I just got an iRiver H10 personal audio player. I bought it based on the idea that it was supported under Debian, since the EasyH10 package is present.
Um, how do you use it? I looked at the README.Debian, which says, quote, "You need to provide a model template for your model of the H10. The easiest way to do that is to copy the proper one to the root of your device." Note that this instruction is USELESS, because my Etch system doesn't mount the H10's hard drive. I can't copy anything to it. Should that read "... use a Windows system to copy ..."? Okay, fine, pretend I could copy files to the H10. What's a "model template", and where would I find one? That instruction is doubly useless. Okay, I checked the information at easyh10.sourceforge.net. The tutorial there seems to imply that it only works with Windows -- at least, all the instructions refer to using Windows. One line says to use rsync, which at least implies they expect the H10 to mount as a device, but in fact it does not. So did I get a Windows-only device? Is easyh10 really only useful as an adjunct to a setup that must be done using Microsoft software? -- Carl Fink [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you attempt to fix something that isn't broken, it will be. -Bruce Tognazzini -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
