hi! i've installed newly sid and it works ok, but with the hal (and in consequence with gnome-volume-manager) and the usbstick i have problems.
hal is mounting the device /dev/sdb instead of /dev/sdb1, therfore i get lots of Nov 22 10:27:15 gusti kernel: FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb) Nov 22 10:27:15 gusti kernel: fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 0) messages. mounting manually works fine. the disk is recognized as Nov 22 10:27:07 gusti kernel: usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 Nov 22 10:27:07 gusti kernel: scsi5 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Nov 22 10:27:07 gusti kernel: usb-storage: device found at 6 Nov 22 10:27:07 gusti kernel: usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Nov 22 10:27:12 gusti kernel: Vendor: Model: USB DRIVE Rev: 2.00 Nov 22 10:27:12 gusti kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: ready Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: SCSI device sdb: 512000 512-byte hdwr sectors (262 MB) Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: SCSI device sdb: 512000 512-byte hdwr sectors (262 MB) Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: sdb: sdb1 Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sdb at scsi5, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Nov 22 10:27:13 gusti kernel: usb-storage: device scan complete the partition(s) are read correctly. any help? thanx...bye...masc. -- _______________________________________________ Surf the Web in a faster, safer and easier way: Download Opera 8 at http://www.opera.com Powered by Outblaze
