Exactly the same situation in which I found myself! Way too confusing for day to day use. And, then, some heretic people say that the command line programs are inherently harder to use than those with menus & co. :-) > My advice is to avoid dselect like the plague. So do I. In fact, the nice thing today is that you can purge dselect from your systems without any harm (in the past, you couldn't do this without breaking things). If you really want a menu-driven program, at least try aptitude.
