Wow. Thanks heaps Mr Rees. The ntp-simple did not help as I have tried that method before but much to my surprise the simplest way to fix this error is:
echo 'Australia/Sydney' >/etc/timezone ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Australia/Sydney /etc/localtime and it just works!! Thanks again.
