Hi! Iīm running a debian unstable since two weeks ago, and it was perfect till I start messing around and now mouse doesnīt work. I donīt know if itīs related with what I did or not: I changed some links in the rx*.d files, in order to start X directly at init (I think I just did that with xdm, kdm or xsession links, not changing anything more) and I tried to patch the kernel in order to get ACPI working. I didnīt succeed in any of the two, but shortly before all that the mouse stopped working.
I've tried with another mouse and nothing. I boot from a Knoppix CD and mouse works without problems. Iīve compared the section regardind the mouse in the Xconfig86-4 file that comes with Knoppix ant the one in my system and they are exact copies. So, why does work in one and not in the other? I donīt know where to look. I did a "apropos mouse" and found a test-configuration mouse program. I ran it and it didnīt detect my mouse either. Do you think it can have anything to do with whith the rc*.d files or the patch for the kernel? How can I try to solve this? I wouldnīt like reinstalling my system all over again.
