I've been running Xorg on my ThinkPad T42 under Ubuntu with no problems for a
while now using both the trackpoint and touchpad devices. Can you post the
input devices section of your xorg.conf?

I don't have a touchpad on ny thinkpad A21. Why am I expected to have
one? I ran into a similar config and it dies because it can't load the
synaptics drivers (duh!). There is just not the physical option for a
touchpad on this notebook but xorg seems to think I need one just the same.
And yes, like so many others, I'm in this limbo stage where I can't go
forward and I can't go back.
