I run mondoarchive/restore on a Dell 600SC with IDE drives on sarge. It works great, and I've even used mondorestore nuke to restore to a different machine with IDE drives. However, now I need to restore to a new Dell 1810 with 2 SCSI drives and Perc4 RAID 1 controller.

Mondo apparently doesn't recognize the RAID controller. I'm running Debian Sarge with a 2.4 kernel. The kernel is fine, as I can do a virgin Debian install on the new machine just fine - The RAID controller -is- properly recognized.

Mondorestore comes up with a crazy partitioning suggestion, and nothing I edit it to is acceptable - just says that the device doesn't exist.

Is this a Debian subject related to the kernel used at the time of backup or a Mondo subject? Any specific help appreciated. As a newbie, it will be very time-consuming to build up the new server to the same functionality as the old one presently has. The mondorestore nuke option (restore to bare metal) is very attractive!

Thanks much for your suggestions! - John
