A recent upgrade with aptitude on testing exited halfway through with the following error:
Preconfiguring packages ...
Setting up libpam0g (0.76-23) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libpam0g.postinst: line 3: 31771 Illegal instruction ldconfig
dpkg: error processing libpam0g (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 132
Errors were encountered while processing:
libpam0g
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
In addition I cannot use dpkg-reconfigure for many packages due to ldconfig not working.
I have found others with the same problem, but reported over a year
ago. I downloaded libc6 and installed with dpkg -i but that
didn't fix the problem. It's been like this for about three or
four days and still no bug report in libc6, so I assume that the
problem is not common.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Take care, eh.
