When I bought it three years ago, it didn't work even though it was a "supported card." Then it worked when the 2.4 kernel was released (with the Via-RhineII driver). If yours is very new, it might not work. The fact is that D-Link is notorious for changing their chips sets every couple of years but not bothering to change model numbers.
