Hi,

I built sarge on an IBM X330. System specs, IBM X330, dual 1GHz PIIIs, 1GB
RAM, dual 36GB u160 SCSI cards on a ServerRAID 4Lx, configured for mirroring.
BIOS version 1.04, ServerRAID version 7.00.

I installed sarge on the machine, but when I tried to boot the linux26 kernel,
it wouldn't boot. I ended up installing 2.4.27-10, and the install went fine.
I then downloaded kernel-source-2.6.11 and compiled my own kernel (since it
was to be a firewall, I had planned to do that anyway, not to mention
enabling the second CPU.)

At this point, I completed configuration remotely from my laptop. Today,
however, I took it to the colo site, racked and cabled it (using a daisy
chain cable from another X330), and found that console keyboard works fine up
until the point where I select 2.6.11, then immediately stops working. If I
boot 2.4.27, it works fine. Can anybody tell me right off the top of their
heads what I am missing in the 2.6 configuration or if there is something
different with 2.6 that is stopping it from working? (Since the linux26
option in the build should be a generic kernel similar to the 2.4 on the
build CD, it should work fine...)

TIA,
