It doesn't fit on my screen either. But I don't understand, why anyone on the world would want a proportional font in a terminal anyway. The Monospace font looks good with at least size 9 on my screen (14" laptop, 1024x768). But I don't recommend using TrueType fonts with xterm anyway. Instead, I am using xfce4-terminal (not in stable, unfortunately) with Bitstream Vera Monospace size 10. The antialiasing is done much better and you can disallow bold fonts to be printed (the same as xterm's '+bdc' switch which doesn't work for TrueType fonts for a reason unknown to me).
