It seems there is a bug in the linux-image-2.6.12 package - it should depend at least on module-init-tools (responsible for creating initrd) and it does not depend on anything!
As a workaround do the following: # apt-get update # apt-get install -f // for sure # apt-get install module-init-tools # apt-get install linux-image-2.6.12-1-686 Debain SID is recently broken more than usually :-( > -----Original Message----- > From: Manu [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2005 7:48 AM > To: debian-user@lists.debian.org > Subject: udev and kernel 2.6.12 > > Hi > > I am trying to upgrade and have the following error > > ------------------ > You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct > these: > The following packages have unmet dependencies: > hal: Depends: udev (>= 0.063) but 0.056-2 is to be installed > E: Unmet dependencies.
