Hi,
A month agao I installed a new mobo(EPOX EP-8VTAI) and CPU(XP 2700+
Thoroughbred).
That CPU says NewEgg runs at 2.1GHz. I can run it at 2.3Ghz. Now I run
it at 1.4Ghz.
I would label it "sensitive", meaning, at certain moments, but I can't
say exactly when, I get strange kernel oopses.
The CPU runs hot, I guess. The old one, AMD Athlon Thunderbird at
850MHz. never had a problem like that and ran max 47C. This one runs
about 10C hotter.
E.g. yesterday on installing a new Sarge system, kernel oops occurred
during compilation and thereafter in apt-get. Temperature was 46C, it
was 30C in the room.
Today: CPU temperature was 40C, same process: no problems.
Any similar experiences?
