Sorry, I haven't followed this discussion, but I'm gonna jump in anyway ;-) Sometimes the channel names in alsamixer can be a little off... this is because the drivers are developped for the sound chips, and sometimes the MoBo makers wire them differently... I used an Intel MoBo soundcard some years ago where the main PCM volume was controlled by the "Headphones" channel in alsamixer... have you tried all of the channels (you can also scroll to the right to see some more channels)? cheers, Christian
