My /etc/X11/xorg.conf file contains:

        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/CID"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi"
        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi"

This is the default configuration. If I replace the second FontPath
line by

        FontPath        "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/:unscaled"

then Image Magick says that it is unable to load the font
'-*-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1'.
